Secret Himalaya Journeys is a registered travel company in Nepal. We specialize in personalized small group pilgrimage and adventure trips to sacred realms in Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan.

Secret Himalaya Journeys doesn’t just guide you to fabulous worlds most travelers only see in photos, we guide you through the experience of being there. The founders and staff of Secret Himalaya Journeys were born in remote Tibetan Buddhist villages near the Nepalese border with Chinese Tibet. The devastating effects of Chinese occupation of Tibet never reached us, since our villages are in political Nepal. What has become denigrated, dispersed, or destroyed in Tibet itself through Chinese military rule has remained continuous and vibrant in our homes and in our lives. The fact that some of us are now internationally conversant doesn’t mean that we are less traditional; it only means that we have learned the skills to now welcome you into our worlds.
We provide both trekking guides and teaching monks (sometimes one in the same!) who offer our travelers professional support for the occasional rigors of the journey. (Of course, we also provide trips that do not require stout legs and hearts, for those taking their journeys gradually).
Secret Himalaya Journeys gives travelers the opportunity to interact with the local communities, with accomplished masters and yogis and shamans–
giving all the occasion to learn from one another. Certainly, on a planet so delicately interconnected, the more we understand about each other and share, the more inspiring and sacred the experience.
Secret Himalaya Journeys supports grassroots community development projects in one of the poorest communities on earth. We donate 20% of our income to activities that address environmental conservation, health and educational projects in our home region, the remote Nepali province of Humla, the border region between western Tibet and Nepal.
For over a decade, we have been leading trips to various parts of Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, and India. We are passionate about sharing our love and knowledge of the Himalayas and its culture with visitors. Our tradition of treating visitors as special guests is embedded within our practices.
