This trek stands as a great alternative to the popular Everest Base Camp Trek. Located at the end of the Dudh Kodhi valley, it offers tranquil trek through the Sherpa heartland allowing abundant time for acclimatization with the world class mountain panoramas and beautiful alpine camp sites. The highlight of the trek though is the ascent of Gokyo Ri from where you will get breathtaking views of Everest as well as the 8000m peaks of Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho-yu.

  • Days 1/2: Arrive Kathmandu/tour of the valley 
  • Days 3/4: Fly to Lukla, start trek through Sherpa villages
  • Days 5/6: Arrive Namche Bazar, rest and acclimatize
  • Days 7/10: Trek up through sherpa villages and their animals pastures to peaceful Gokyo Lakes
  • Days 11/12: Ascend Gokyo Ri (5483m), view Everest, and Cho-yu.
  • Days 13/14: Trek down via alternative trail to Thyangboche.
  • Day 15: Trek to Khunde and Khumjung
  • Days 16/17: Return trek to Lukla
  • Day 18: Fly Lukla to Kathmandu
  • Day 20: In Kathmandu, trip conclude
