Nam Tso Lake at an altitude of 4580m, located north of Lhasa, is the second largest and one of the most sacred and beautiful lakes in Tibet. Surrounded by Nyenchen Thanglha Mountains, the lake offers shelter for many species of migrating and local birds as well as meditation sites for devout Buddhist practitioners.
