This 8 day overland tour will follow the friendship highway from Kathmandu to Lhasa. On the way, we will visit major sites of Tibet - Shigatse and Gyantse. Shigatse is the second largest city of Tibet as well as the seat of Panchen Lama and Tashilungpo monastery. Gyantse used to be one of the major trading hubs of Tibet where we will visit Khumbum stupa, Gyantse Dzong and Palkor Chode Monastery. From Gyantse we will drive to Lhasa via Yamdruk Tso (turquoise Lake). In Lhasa, we will spend a two days visitng Potala Palace, Jokhang temple, Sera and Drepung Monastery. On day 8th, you will fly back to Kathmandu or onward to mainland China. This tour can be operated in reverse (fly in/drive out) too.

• Day 1/2: Arrival Kathmandu and tour of valley
• Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to the Tibetan border at Kodari (Zhangmu) and drive to Nyalam(3750 m)
• Day 4/7: Drive toLhatse (3950 m)with Spectacular Mountain views from Lalung-La pass (5050m) of Everest and Cho-yu, then drive to Shigatse (3900 m) – visitTashilimpu Monastery, drive to Gyantse (3950 m) - visit Khumbum, Palkor Chode Monastery and Gyantse Dzong and drive to Lhasa (3650 m) passing through beautiful Yamdruk Tso (turquoise lake)  and the Yarlung (Brahmaputra) River
• Day 8/9: Lhasa- Visit Sera Monastery, Jokhang temple, Barkhor square, Drepung Monastery and Potala Palace
• Day 10: Fly from Lhasa, trip concludes
