The overland trip will take you to Lhasa and onwards to the lost medieval Kingdom of Guge through Mount Kailash and Manasarovar; considered by Buddhist, Bonpos, Hindus and Jains as the most sacred site. Starting from Lhasa, you will visit Shigaste, Gyantse and visit major sites in the region including Tibetan nomadic camps and villages. You will drive through magnificent Himalayan views of Everest, Choyu, Annapurna, Shishapangma, Dhaulagiri and many more mountains until you reach sacred Mount Kailash and lake Manasarovar. Upon reaching Guge, you will observe and explore the extraordinary art and artifacts in Tholing and Tsaprang. Many explorers including historian Michael Wood in 2004 concluded - this was the region that inspired the legend of Shangri-la.  

  • Day 1/2 : Arrival and tour of Kathmandu 
  • Day 3/5: Fly to Lhasa and visit Potala Palace,Jokhang temple, Sera monastery, Norbu Lingkha 
  • Day 6/11: Drive to Gyantse, Shigatse, Lhaste, Saga, Paryang and to Manasarovar along the magnificent Himalayan view and nomadic life, flora and fauna 
  • Day 12: Drive Manasarovar to Darchen entering into the Scared realm of Kailash 
  • Day 13/15: Drive to Darchen and trek to Driraphuk (4860 m.), trek to Zutul Phuk (4750 m.) and trek to Darchen and Drive to Tirtha Puri.
  • Day 16/19: Drive and visit ruins of magical Guge Kingdom (Toling and Tsaprang) and drive to Tirthapuri and drive to Goshul Gompa
  • Day 20/22: Drive to Paryang, to Saga and to Nyalam
  • Day 23/24: Cross Zhangmu border and drive to Kathmandu and departure
