Nam Tso Lake at an altitude of 4580m, located north of Lhasa, is the second largest and one of the most sacred and beautiful lakes in Tibet. Surrounded by Nyenchen Thanglha Mountains, the lake offers shelter for many species of migrating and local birds as well as meditation sites for devout Buddhist practitioners. The trip starts from Lhasa where you will visit the major religious and cultural sites of Tibet and then the trek leads you around Namtso and Nyenchen Thanglha valley
Day 1/2: Arrive Kathmandu and tour of the valley
Day 3/5: Fly to Lhasa, Visit Potala Palace, Sera Monastery & Norbulingkha Palace, Jokhang Temple, Drepung Monastery & Barkhor square
Day 6: Morning drive to Damxung and start trekking.
Day 7/9: Trekking around Namtso Lake
Day 10: Trek back to Nagenla Pass and drive to Lhasa
Day 11/16: Drive to Gyantse- visit Kumbum, Palkhor Chode and Fort and drive to Shigatse - visit Tashi Lungpo monastery, and drive to Lhatse via Sakya monstery, drive to Tingri, drive to Nyalam, drive to Zangmu/ cross Border and drive to Kathmandu
Day 17: Airport transfer, fly back hom
